Cybersecurity Advisory · Research & Development

Cybersecurity research that holds up in practice.

KN Cyber is a Cybersecurity Advisory and R&D firm. Our advisory practice leads security programs, risk and compliance, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and NIST SP 800-171 work, security reviews, and penetration tests for fintech, technology, insurance, manufacturing, and healthcare organizations. Our research in product security and AI trust shapes that advice, and we develop what proves out for licensing.

Research & development

APSOS™: Continuous Product Security Assurance

Evidence-driven, continuous assessment of product security programs, with human-governed decision support. Status: active research and development. A provisional patent application has been filed for related subject matter.

APSOS™ Runtime & Trust

Runtime monitoring of autonomous AI agents, behavioral anomaly detection, and trust signals that help a person intervene in time. Status: active research and development. No patent is claimed for this program.

Technology licensing: we develop cybersecurity technology to license to software vendors, cloud and AI platforms, enterprises, and managed security providers.

Academic partnerships: joint research, graduate projects, and independent lab validation with universities.

Government-funded research: we pursue eligible programs such as NSF SBIR/STTR.

These are research and development programs, not commercial software products.

Recent work

  • Fintech: provides continuous infrastructure security management and posture maintenance for a payment-processing technology firm that works with merchants.

  • Insurance: supported a cloud security assessment and implementation for an insurance firm.
  • Technology: strengthened the application security program of a hardware virtualization company that also delivers SaaS.

How an engagement starts

  1. 01A 30-minute call.

Bring the questionnaire, contract clause, audit deadline, or research question.

  2. 02An assessment and a dated plan:

What exists, what's missing, and who owns each item. For SOC 2, readiness typically takes 2–4 months depending on your organization's size, and a Type 2 report then adds an observation period.

  3. 03The work, done alongside your team,

and support after the report or deliverable.

A security deadline, or a security problem worth studying?

Teams with an audit, a customer review, or a security program to build can start with a call. Universities and companies interested in research or licensing can start with a partnership inquiry.
