SOC 2 & HITRUST Readiness
SOC 2 and HITRUST readiness that ends in a report
A SOC 2 report is how most enterprise customers, banks and partners, and health plans decide whether to trust your controls. We scope the audit to what your customers need, build the controls and policies, collect the evidence, and work with your independent CPA firm through Type 1 and Type 2. When a customer requires HITRUST, we prepare you for that too.
What's included
- Scoping: which Trust Services Criteria, systems, and vendors are in scope, and Type 1 vs. Type 2 timing
- Gap assessment against the criteria, with a prioritized remediation plan
- Control design and implementation support, including access reviews, change management, logging, vendor management, and incident response
- Policies and procedures written for how your team actually works
- Evidence collection inside your compliance platform, or a lightweight system if you don't have one
- Auditor selection support and coordination through fieldwork
- After the report: continuous monitoring, the next audit period, and customer questionnaires
- When buyers ask for more: HITRUST readiness and multi-framework mapping (HIPAA, ISO 27001), so evidence is reused
- ISO 27001 readiness, as a related service: information security management system implementation and preparation for certification. An accredited certification body performs the certification audit.
How long it takes
SOC 2 readiness typically takes 2–4 months, depending on your organization's size and starting point. A Type 1 report can follow once controls are in place. A Type 2 report also includes an observation period, during which your auditor tests whether controls operated over time, so plan for that on top of readiness. You get a dated plan after the gap assessment.
Type 1 or Type 2?
A Type 1 report describes your controls at a point in time. A Type 2 report tests whether they operated over a period, usually several months. Many enterprise customers and health plans ask for Type II specifically, sometimes on a short clock. We help you choose the path that satisfies your buyers without wasting a cycle.
What we don't do
We don't perform the audit. SOC 2 examinations are performed by independent CPA firms, and the result is a report, not a certification. Keeping readiness and audit separate protects the credibility of your report.
SOC 2 alongside your industry's requirements
Fintech: we scope SOC 2 together with PCI DSS and the security questions banks and partners send, so one evidence set serves all three. Fintech
Technology and SaaS: SOC 2 plus the AI sections now appearing in enterprise questionnaires. Technology and SaaS
Manufacturing: where you also implement NIST SP 800-171, we map shared controls so evidence is reused. Manufacturing
Healthcare: SOC 2 scoped together with HIPAA, and HITRUST readiness when a health plan requires it. A SOC 2 report alone does not establish HIPAA compliance. Healthcare
